Alchemised is related to Harry Potter because it is an officially published, rewritten version of a popular Harry Potter fanfiction called Manacled, by the author SenLinYu.

The Harry Potter fanfiction was set in an alternate universe where Voldemort won, and featured a "Dramione" (Draco and Hermione) romance in a dark fantasy setting, which Alchemised transforms with new characters and magic systems while retaining its original "pull-to-pub" origins.

SenLinYu is an American writer best known as the author of Manacled, an adult dystopian fan fiction based on the Harry Potter and The Handmaid's Tale intellectual properties. The fanfiction, which provides an alternate ending to the Harry Potter series, gained popularity for its inclusion of a romantic relationship between Harry Potter characters Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.
